Theology
Theology is the study of religion. It is a term designed to
articulate the different principles, ethics, and disciplines found present in
different religious practices. In this light, some ideas and practices are
universal and others are markedly specific. Religion, itself, within this
termed dynamic, is meant to depict a form of discipline which is oriented
around the traditional observance of some form of sacred teaching. In this
understanding, theology comes out to be the study of disciplines rooted in sacred
observance. It is purposed toward developing knowledges which allow for a more
effective engagement of tasks which would otherwise be misunderstood without
the lessons that religious observance has to offer.
The applicability of wisdoms found present in theology is rooted
in this increased depth of understanding granted from sacred observance. As one
grows to cultivate their own behaviors around this method of teaching, the
inevitable culmination of an understanding made whole is one which typically follows
suit.
Philosophy is built around this idea of knowledge finding
applicability, as wisdom is meant to allow for the engagement of different
ideas with an increased capacity of understanding. Applied philosophy and
theology are delicately crafted in this embrace, as they are both giving of
discipline, but the unique elements of their relevance are ingrained within a
larger framework which can be written as a composition of profound
interconnection, given base ideations of sound fundamentality. This understanding
stems from the powerful capacity to draw from lessons which have been handed
down by those who have come before and those who still walk in the light of day
as testaments to the profundity of religious observance.
Religion and wisdom go hand in hand, and the goodness which
naturally comes about, as a result of this relationship, is one which
articulates the purpose of pursuing wisdom. Sacred observance grants lessons,
and philosophy is the pursuit of lessons which are giving of wisdom. In this
dynamic, religion serves as a source of wisdom that retains the perpetual
capacity to invoke and impart teachings of unique applicability which are
conducive to elements of self enrichment and empowering health.
